Introduction
I believe the best way to describe a person is through the words of another.
Describing oneself limits us to express by and large our true individuality,
and most of the time negative attributes are intentionally overlooked for our
own personal embellishment.
Herewith, I would like to describe myself by focusing not on my identity but
more on my personality. I am presenting the results, including the sources of a
few personality tests I took, that I find very substantial in determining your
true type of personality and how your brain functions to generate your thoughts
and actions.
Regular reading of our personal portraiture in language, knowing more and
understanding our own internal characteristics, traits, and attributes, and
being aware of our capabilities and limitations, allow us to deal with everyday
situations in life with the right mental attitude. We are able to adjust and
adapt oneself to critical circumstances, and we will find it easier to be on
harmonious terms with individuals who may otherwise be incompatible with our temperament.
You may not find it as interesting as I do going through these results but I
recommend you check out the sources of these tests and find out more about
yourself as well. Knowing more about oneself is like gaining totally new
knowledge, it's like understanding what you know and realizing what you
are aware of.
Remember that there are no passing grades nor failures in these tests. The
results may not be accurate for you but neither will they be mistaken for
someone else.
Larrimar: the INTJ
Introverted, iNtuitive, Thinking, Judging Type
Excerpts from the
Profile of an INTJ by BSM Consulting
As an INTJ, your primary mode of living is focused internally, where you take
things in primarily via your intuition. INTJs live in the world of ideas and
strategic planning. They value intelligence, knowledge, and competence. INTJs
focus their energy on observing the world, and generating ideas and
possibilities.
INTJ's tremendous value and need for systems and organization, combined with
their natural insightfulness, makes them excellent scientists. The internal
form of the INTJ's thoughts and concepts is highly individualized, and is not
readily translatable into a form that others will understand.
INTJs are natural leaders. When they are in leadership roles, they are quite
effective. They are the supreme strategists - always scanning available ideas
and concepts and weighing them against their current strategy.
INTJs spend a lot of time inside their own minds, and may have little interest
in the other people's thoughts or feelings. They may have problems giving other
people the level of intimacy that is needed, and they may have a tendency to
ignore details which are necessary for implementing their ideas.
They are quick to express judgments, and are convinced that they are right
about things. They may find themselves frequently misunderstood, and tend to
blame misunderstandings on the limitations of the other party, rather than on
their own difficulty in expressing themselves.
INTJs are ambitious, self-confident, deliberate, long-range thinkers. They
dislike messiness and inefficiency, and will put enormous amounts of energy and
time into consolidating their insights into structured patterns. Other people
may have a difficult time understanding an INTJ. They may see them as aloof and
reserved.
Others may falsely perceive the INTJ as being rigid and set in their ways,
because the INTJ is committed to always finding the objective best strategy to
implement their ideas.
When under a great deal of stress, the INTJ may become obsessed with mindless
repetitive, Sensate activities, such as over-drinking.
INTJs have a tremendous amount of ability to accomplish great things. They have
insight into the Big Picture, and are driven to synthesize their concepts into
solid plans of action. Their reasoning skills gives them the means to
accomplish that.

Brain Works Personal
Evaluation
Left/Right Brain Dominance Self Test Description
Larrimar, you are balanced in your hemispheric dominance and a pre-dominantly
auditory learner. This combination suggests that you are flexible in your
perceptions and view of the world, while you prefer to learn in a deliberate
and orderly fashion.
You have the capability to tolerate ambiguity well without surrendering the
equally important ability to have strong held views of your own.
Your perceptions balance between "the bigger picture" and the "details," which
allows you to be flexible in your organization. You can work logically or skip
from subject to subject with equanimity.
In much the same way, you have achieved balance between the abstract and the
concrete, the symbolic and the functional. This permits you to focus on the
concrete tasks which need to be completed in the present with a clear
understanding of how they relate to the future.
The preeminence of your auditory mode of processing suggests that you orient
towards processing material in sequential fashion. This may slow you down at
times, and you might feel that you could do or learn things faster, causing
some frustration.
What will generally be most important to you in learning and living is the
"pace" or "rhythm" that you experience. More so than others, you will vary that
rhythm in order to more effectively use the balance that you possess.
In the overall scheme of things, you will find yourself to be consistent in a
wide range of activities. Your own artistic skills may well be more oriented to
the theater or writing or even in music. If you have a sense of incompleteness,
it could be attributed to the undeveloped visual learning and visual skills
which are inherent in your development and you may be well-advised to pursue
activities which would contribute to your growth in that way.
